Well, if I thought they were Oreo crumbs, I would be licking the drawer. Coffee grounds are safer for me!

I have three exterminators in my house, except I think only one of them is capable of catching an actual mouse, unless said mouse fell over dead from a heart attack in front of them. And those are Oreo crumbs in my silverware drawer from a recipe gone wrong. I SWEAR!

At least we are not coping with the rats that routinely run amok on the streets of New York City! You make a good point–the drought is drawing everybody closer in.

I know when they are ‘visiting’ my patios because both cats sit staring through the glass doors. Over the years I have had aclose relationship with my exterminator, but when the company switched who was assigned to us, it went sour with the new guy: he treated me as if I was an idiot. So I went rogue and started buying rat traps and baiting then with poison. Now that we are moving, am happy to say goodbye bye to the rodents better! From what I was told it isn’t a cleanliness issue as much as a drought one — the rats live in the sewers and come out for food and drink. Good luck with your critters.

Cats–a good investment!

They don’t scare me but I don’t like the thought of the lack of hygiene so we invested in cats. Rats would be a different issue.
