Very insightful, your comment about “for the time being.” Thanks for writing.
]]>Thanks, Nancy. Yes, it’s the kind of moment that doesn’t fade. And by phone. We Skyped my eldest daughter, then living abroad, with the news we wished we didn’t have to share. I remember watching the blood drain out of her face. “I feel like I’m on another planet,” she said. I’m guessing that’s how you felt when you received such a call.
]]>Wow, Nancy! I bet that’s etched. So thankful to learn it worked out well.
]]>Sorry about that, Wendy. I’ve had the same reaction from others who don’t know me from reading this (of course, that was my writerly intent but not easy for the reader on a person-to-person level). I’m glad your husband recovered. It’s amazing to me how etched in our brain these things are.
]]>Thanks, Marianne.
]]>Well, I realize from your and others’ comments that of course you’d think this was current. Sorry about that! Building suspense at a price! You have had some heart- and time-stopping moments as well. They are always so indelibly etched. Thanks for writing.
