Thanks for writing, Wendy. I believe that the presumption of innocence is important in a criminal proceeding, but not for a job interview. The Flake Fig Leaf (aka the additional FBI “investigation”) provided the cover Republicans needed to continue with this travesty. Dr. Blasey Ford’s wholly credible account was just one of many reasons to keep this guy off the court, and his antics at the special hearing were especially disqualifying. But the Supreme Court was lost the moment Mitch McConnell not only got away with but was richly rewarded for his brazen theft of President Obama’s appointment. Hopefully enough Americans have woken up to stop rewarding this crew in November.

Especially as here, with sexually motivated crimes it seems that innocent until proven guilty no longer seems to hold true. I can’t understand how his appointment (well actually I can) was rushed through without any proper inquiry into the allegations. I think it becomes even more questionable when your judges are appointed for life. It’s not like their office can be challenged after a set term. I sincerely hope there is a system in place for removing anyone who no longer has their faculties.
